Pantoprazole: A Medicine to Lower The Stomach Acids
Pantoprazole is being used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in children and people 5 years of age and older. GERD is a condition in which the backward passage of acids from the stomach causes heartburn and the possibility of damage to the esophagus (the tube connecting the neck and tummy). Pantoprazole is a drug that is used to aid in the recovery of the esophagus and the prevention of further damage in those who have GERD.
