Remeron may cause these common side effects

Remeron is an antidepressant, which can help to recover from the symptoms of depression.   It is also called mirtazapine. It restores chemical balance in the brain. Remeron is predominantly used to treat a class of depression called Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in grown-ups. Brand names are Remeron (immediate-release tablet), Remeron soltab (orally disintegrating tablet). Regular use of remeron effects in many severe disorders, now we discuss a few main side effects: 

Before taking Remeron

If you are sensitive to mirtazapine, you should avoid Remeron. Make sure your doctor knows about any other medications you are undergoing like herbal products or any other depression medications. These medicines may interfere with mirtazapine and can cause a condition called serotonin syndrome.  

Side effects of Remeron

Every drug has side effects. Such a way remeron effects are:

    - Drowsiness

    - Depressed mood 

    - Feelings of extreme happiness or sad

    - Blurred vision leads to eye pain

    - Fever, chills, headache

    - Change in weight

    - Loss of interest in your standard activities

    - suicidal thinking

Dosage information for Remeron

    - Initial dose: 15 mg once a day at bedtime

Maintenance dose: 15 to 45 mg once a day

Maximum dose: 45 mg/day

You should not take two doses at a time when you missed the previous one. Because overdose may cause  drowsiness, increased heart rate, and memory problems.

Chemical Composition

Remeron tablets are orally administered drugs. It has the empirical formula of C17H19N3, and its molecular weight is 265. 36.   It is a white crystalline powder and slightly soluble in water. Each tablet also contains corn starch, lactose, and other ingredients. It may build the amounts of norepinephrine and serotonin in your brain. These are chemical couriers that affect your mood.

Consideration for taking mirtazapine

You can take it with or without food. Take this close to bedtime because it leads to sleepiness. Keep mirtazapine at room temperature between 15°C and 30°C. Keep this away from light.  

Warnings

Don't stop taking mirtazapine without consulting your doctor. Halting this drug suddenly can cause withdrawal symptoms. These include anxiety, shaking, and electric shock-like feelings. It also includes sweating, nausea, vomiting, strange dreams, tiredness, confusion, and headache. If you need to quit taking this drug, your doctor will slowly reduce your dosage.

    - Swelling of your face

    - Severe rash 

    - Painful reddening of your skin 

    - Itchy welts alone or with a fever or joint pain

    2. Alcohol Interaction warning

Drinking alcohol with this one can cause side effects. It increases your risk of sleepiness and affects you by overthinking or makes you react slowly. One should avoid alcohol while using this drug.

Remeron during pregnancy and Breastfeeding

People with this kind of depression who wish to become pregnant face important decisions. Caution is taken with Breastfeeding since mirtazapine passes into breast milk. Breastfed infants should be noticeable for behavioral side effects and adequate growth.

Drugs you shouldn't take along with mirtazapine

    - Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), Serotonergic medications, Lithium - the risk of serotonin syndrome

    - Benzodiazepines - more sedation and drowsiness.

    - Antipsychotics and antibiotics - the risk of a heart rhythm problem 

    - Warfarin - increase in bleeding
